My family, after 16 wonderful years had lost our beloved Luna. together with us our beloved hound Romney were very sad. Then we saw those eyes!!!! what beautiful eyes!!!!! perfect match she needed a family, we needed a hound.3 weeks after adopting she got an eye infection that wouldn't go away. within 1…

Toulouse

I am so thrilled that Toulouse was adopted. I check on the grey faced kids to see how things are coming along. Its wonderful when any kid gets adopted, but for me its extra special for a grey faced one.

For my Sawyer

Today I lost my friend.  I remeber when we brought him home.  He was only 4 months old and by the breeder that we got him from he was too old and that is why she was discounting him.  He was always a good Dog, well except maybe stealing a few lunches and well maybe there was the couch that he ate... but he was always there for a belly rub or just to lay with you.  He always seem to know which one.  He had a way to look at you that just made you want to hug him instead of scolding him.  We…

She would howl at her best doggie friends on our walks just to say hi, and would inevitably…

CHECK OUT BASSET HOUND WEBSITES...

Artful Hounds Renee Bane of BHRSC has a creative and fun way to display your love of bassets. Check out her website for yard or wall art, basset hound clocks and leashes.

Go to: http://www.bhrsc.info/ and see all the Basset Hounds looking for forever homes; adoption procedures; volunteering, fostering and everything Basset Hound.

Here's a great web site if you're looking for help when a hound has crossed the rainbow bridge. I've purchased items from them (a marker for my sweet Penny) and they were fantastic in delivering the order and sent a condolence card.

Here's a great site for artwork and all things hounds. They've supported BHRSC with cards and stickers. I can't say enough positive things about this organization.

Volunteer Opportunities

The hounds need you to volunteer asap:

Want to help homeless hounds find their way to forever homes? BHRSC is looking for transport volunteers to bail hounds out of shelters and also transport them to events for their moment in the spotlight. The hours are flexible, you can volunteer as you are available, and we have help needed in all areas so you don't have to travel far from home!

Maybe you've noticed a problem with SPAM on this site lately. I've been diligently trying to remove individuals that use this site to promote their business or illegal activity.

It's become increasingly difficult to keep unauthorized individuals off - so I've found it necessary for future members to apply for access.

My apologies for any delay in membership - but I hope you will understand the need to "keep it clean".
