Today I lost my friend. I remeber when we brought him home. He was only 4 months old and by the breeder that we got him from he was too old and that is why she was discounting him. He was always a good Dog, well except maybe stealing a few lunches and well maybe there was the couch that he ate... but he was always there for a belly rub or just to lay with you. Chloe was by far the funniest, sweetest, and most loving dog I have ever known. Despite having a rubber band twisted so tightly around her ear that it left a permanent stripe, she never let it ruin her spirit. Even after throwing a fit at the vet during her nail trimmings that required her to be muzzled and held down, she would still wag her tail and give kisses to the doctors afterwards.

I am a new college grad and am beginning my professional life. I am looking for a basset to go on walks with, to the dog park and cuddle with. I joined so I could learn more about how to be a great basset hound owner and get ideas before I settle down with my "forever friend".
